For those of us, who do not know what to pack for a carry-on, here are my top 10 things I bring with me to travel!
1. Carry a Water Bottle (either refillable or buy a bottle)
Our skin can easily get dry while waiting for our destination. Water keeps us hydrated. Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the flight. Make sure to buy a water bottle after you pass security because they will take it away.
2. Bring a Book or Kindle
Many of us will not be able to use our electronics during our flight (unless you pay for the Wi-Fi), so why not read a good book or read from a kindle. It gives our eyes a break and can keep us entertained.
3. Bring a Portable Charger and a Travel Adapter
Once you land to your destination, it can be challenging to find an outlet. A portable charger allows you to not worry about finding an outlet and it helps in an emergency. Bring a backup memory card, if you plan to take plenty of pictures. A travel adapter is another back-up device to bring as well. If traveling outside of the U.S.A, every continent has their outlets set up differently. It is essential to have an adapter that will fit your phone charger or camera charger to plug in with the adapter.
4. One pair of spare clothes
Just in case, your luggage goes missing, bring an additional change of clothes. It helps with any emergency and nothing is better than fresh clothes. Another item to bring with you is spare underwear.
5. Small bag for all of the toiletries
It depends on what you prefer on bringing. I like to carry in my toiletry bag a travel-size deodorant, small toothbrush & toothpaste, small mouthwash, a pack of Wet-Ones (wipes), sanitary napkins/panty liners ( for my ladies), compact underwear, small lotion, two face masks, and travel-size packs of tissues.
6. Lightweight Packable Backpack or bag
Just in case, you see something that you want to buy and don't have a bag to carry in, carrying a packable backpack or bag allows you to buy as many souvenirs as you like.
7. Selfie Stick
There are going to be many places, where just extending your arm out to take a photo, will not cut it. Having a selfie stick, allows you to capture the entire scenery behind you and it is useful for traveling with friends.
8. Snacks
Sometimes we like to munch on something when we are on the plane, or waiting for our ride to get to our hotel or Airbnb. Granola Bars, Trail Mix, or small packs of chips will help stop the cravings.
9. Small cross-body purse or satchel
These items help have easy access for your cell phone, passport (internationally), important ID's, wallet, and important papers (such as your boarding pass).
10. Headphones
These will be your greatest comrade. They allow you to listen to music, watch movies, listen to podcasts, and audiobooks (if you use the app). They also help for when the airline does not give a pair to you. As well as using your phone, for your source of entertainment.
The carry-on will be the only thing you need to travel. Another helpful note is to make sure that you carry all liquids that are less than 3oz because security will take all fluids that are above 3oz.
Of course! I am happy to help! Now you are better prepared for Greece! ;) lol
