I have only been an ARMY for about a year, but I feel like I have been a fan for years with this K-pop boy group. BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys debuted on 2013. They are a seven-member South Korean boy band in Seoul. Their music style includes a wide range of genres; K-pop, Hip Hop, R&B, and EDM. When I found out that they were coming to New Jersey for a concert, I knew that I had to go and get tickets. BTS concerts can get hectic because some fans are crazy. For example, some fans will camp outside of the concert venue, until the next day. There would also be some fans that will pay around 1K of a ticket to go to their concert. To me, that is a bit overboard because I can use that money to go on a round-trip.
So I took the chance and tried to find tickets for their concert, and by chance, I was able to get tickets. I found tickets at a reasonable price, even more, reasons to celebrate. I was psyched that I was going to be seeing them live! Two weeks before the concert, I made sure to prepare myself for all of the songs, they were going to sing. I listened to their latest album: Map of the Soul: Persona and then went down the list of their previous albums. I was hyped for the concert.
A day before the concert date, I was trying to decide what to wear with my friend. My friend and I kept messaging each other, back and forth, to see if our outfits were fit for the concert. After an hour of settling, we both finally decided on an outfit for each other. My mother dropped us off at the concert venue at Met Life Stadium. I have never seen the Met Life Stadium packed before. The news announced that there was going to be heavy traffic near the Met Life Stadium because of the concert.
My friend and I had to walk a lot to get to the main entrance of the venue. Then, we saw that the concert was selling BTS merchandise. However, the line was super long. The wait time was about an hour to two hours, to get to the register; so we decided to take that chance. After waiting for a long time, we made it to the merchandise table. We got scared because we started to hear cheering inside the stadium.
Once we finished paying for our merchandise, we ran straight to find our seats.
We found our seats and within seconds, the concert started; we were thrilled that we did not miss anything. The group performed all of the songs that I loved: Boy With Luv, DNA, Make it Right, HOME, Fake Love, FIRE, Wings, and many more. The concert got magical because as it got dark, the members told the audience to turn on their light sticks. The whole stadium was a colorful pool of lights. Once the concert ended, we were in trouble because both of our cell phones died. We were unable to call for a ride.
Fortunately, the stadium had free mobile charging stations. We were able to charge our phones then. So to kill time, my friend wanted to buy some merchandise from the concert. We waited in line to get a shirt. Luckily the line was not long, compared to earlier. He was able to get his shirt.
Then, we were looking for our ride outside the venue. We were starving, but everything inside the stadium was closed. My friend's parents asked us if we were hungry; we immediately said yes. We picked up Wendy's since that was the only place opened at 1am. Once we finished eating, my friend and his parents dropped me off at my house.
The concert was astonishing. BTS truly has empowering and remarkable songs. The members are genuine and bring such positivity to everyone around them. I absolutely love the group, BTS. I'm lucky to have experienced such an incredible group with one of my closest friends. This concert is definitely one for the books. . <3
