A new year means new beginnings and adventures. This year, I will be keeping a jar and writing all of the good things that happen each day. Once it reaches the end of the year, I will take all of the notes out and reflect on what I have done, over the year.
I have decided to write down six goals to complete, by the end of 2019.
1. Be present and live the moment
From time to time, I catch myself checking up on my phone and getting caught up on social media post that do not matter, I should be focused on the person or people that I am with and just enjoying the moment. I only have one life, I should not waste time on social media. I should use that time to make more memories with family and friends and cherish these moments.
2. Spend more time with nature and with myself.
Sometimes, I am always in a rush to get to my destination or distracted with technology that I do not take the time to explore what is around me. Once the weather gets warmer, I want to go to more national state parks and beaches.
I also want to spend more time with myself. When I was younger, I thought that being alone made you feel lonely. As I am getting older, I now realize how important it is to spend time with yourself. This can mean going to museums, parks, restaurants, anywhere where I discover more about myself and check up on my state of mind
3. Begin my fitness journey and incorporate exercise into my lifestyle again.
I want to focus on toning my muscles. Exercising also helps me to relieve stress and to become mentally and physically stronger.
4. Organize my life
I have been able to stay up to date with my academic life, social life, and professional life. However, I have been struggling to stay organize for years. I want to change my ways and begin to organize my life in all three settings.
This will allow me to have a clear and focused mind. It will also help me keep on track of all of my events and tasks to do for each day.
5. Be aware of expenses
As I get older, there are going to be more expenses that I have to include into my life. Such as dental and vision care. I also have to consider insurance for my future car, when I start driving more. I have to be aware of where my money is going and to be cautious to not spend too much.
I will set up a budget for myself and not go over a certain amount. This will help me keep track of where is my money going and see how much I saved.
6. Travel not just globally, but locally
There are so many wonderful places to see in New Jersey that I have never heard of. This will give me a chance to explore more of my home state and to also travel more in the tri-state area and to other states in U.S.A
Looking forward to accomplishing my goals for this year and to make more memories with loved ones.
I definitely want to explore more of NJ and the tri-state area.
